The question of whether to run
a digitising project with scanning methods carried
out in-house or out-house at an establishment
such as Transworld
Digital will depend on many things,
such as the availability of capital esxpenditure,
institutional experience and expertise, the size
of the project, even available space.
In-house
Scanning
In certain cases, companies or organisations may
decide that in-house
scanning is their preferred option for the following
reasons:
TWD offers companies with
any of the above concerns an in-house scanning
facility. This involves TWD installing the
required project scanning hardware &
software into the Companies/Organisations
premises. TWD staff would then operate from
these premises to facilitate production
and carry out any staff training requirements
until project completion. At the completion
of the project, TWD will remove the hardware
from the companies' premises.
TWD would then supply off-site support over
the agreed period to the company or organisation.
Out-house
Scanning
The majority
of TWD's clients will utilise TWD's premises
and trained staff to carry out their digitising
projects. This is known as out-house
scanning. In this instance, TWD will develop
the project, arrange pick-up of media,
carry out all project requirements, and
deliver back to the client upon completion
their original media and their digitised
images.
TWD would then supply off-site support
over the agreed period to the company
or organisation.
