has ever occurred within the group. |
Certified Security
Destruction of outdated documents completes the
cycle of professional records management. Why
pay for storage of documents that will never be
referenced again or are too confidential to throw
away?
We will deliver Confidential Waste Sacks to your
office and organise removal to our facility for
confidential destruction. For material already
stored at
Transworld
Digital, we will advise clients
in advance that files are approaching End of Life
Date and dispose of the material in accordance
with your instructions. A Certificate of Destruction
will be issued to clients as proof of document
destruction.
Technology, especially IT is an integral part
of the processes within commercial and public
organisations. However the life of the hardware
is relatively short and disposal of this equipment
presents a major challenge especially when taking
account of the wide ranging and differing aspects
such as:
• Safe
handling and disposal methods
• Environmentally
sound practice in line with current and constantly
changing legislation
• Compliance
with the data protection act requirements
• Asset
Traceability along with relevant Certification
of Disposal
Most organisations are aware of their responsibility
to act in an environmentally friendly manner yet,
not all are aware that, the disposal of IT Equipment
is among the 10 categories of the new WEEE regulations.
These regulations, driven by the DTI, implement
provisions of the European Parliament and Council
Directive on Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment
(2002/96/EC) ("The WEEE Directive").
The Environmental Agency will be charged with
the enforcement as soon as the fine details are
completed and legislation has been passed.
The Data Protection Act 1998 also impacts on the
disposal of IT equipment as storage media etc.
may hold confidential information and therefore
must be erased from the equipment or storage media
before disposal or your disposal contractor can
provide a certified magnetic disk wiping service.
All organisations need policies
or an ‘outsourced’ provider
for 'end of life' Computer & Office
derived WEEE. including all redundant equipment,
regardless of condition or age.
WEEE compliance, data protection and a full
audit trail are required to ensure your
organisation remains both compliant and
environmentally responsible with policies
that incorporate ‘Best Value’
practice as an acknowledgement of environmental
responsibilities. |
|
The Best ‘Best Value’ recycling practice
is to re-use wherever possible followed by de-manufacturing,
allowing equipment to be segregated into its 4
main materials groups then into sub-groups which
include 7 for Electronic Waste alone!
All the time a full audit trail with certification
must be maintained for proof of compliance.
